Dahari

Dahari is a Comorian-based NGO whose name translates to “sustainable” or “forever.”  Their mission is to create sustainable and productive landscapes in Comorian communities through interventions in rural development, management of natural resources, conservation of biodiversity and ecotourism. They provide support to local farmers by helping them to adapt to new, resilient agroecological technologies, as well as fend off natural resource exploitation by implementing sustainable practices backed by economic incentive mechanisms.

2Mains

The 2Mains association has been working in Comoros since 2006 with the mission of improving living conditions for the local population, as well as preserving the surrounding environment. They use a participatory approach which gives a voice to local actors in deciding the projects in their communities and assisting in the implementation. The 2Mains association emphasizes the importance of finding solutions that allow previous projects to build off each other, creating long-term social, economic, and environmental successes. By building these synergies, the organization is empowering local people with the ability to sustain the results and benefits of these initiatives. Their projects focus on structuring clean water sources, collecting and recycling waste, and implementing technical innovations for more sustainable agricultural practices.
