Organisation Ecologique des Lacs et de l’Ogooué (OELO)
Organisation Ecologique des Lacs et de l’Ogooué (OELO) is a non-profit in Gabon that was formed with residents from the Lake Oguemoué community with the goal of finding a way to protect their local environment. This region is home to a variety of species, both endangered and prolific, that face the threats of illegal hunting and overfishing that plague the ecosystem. OELO has worked tirelessly since 2010 to raise awareness and find solutions to these issues. Today, the organization’s mission has expanded to include the promotion of Ecotourism and environmental education in the local schools of the region.

Protectrice des Grands Singes de la Moukalaba
Protectrice des Grands Singes de la Moukalaba (PROGRAM) is a Gabon-based NGO working to protect great apes and conserve the Moukalaba Doudou National Park region. The protection of apes is so critical to PROGRAM because it guarantees the well-being of humans due to the unique heritage that humans share with apes. The organization also hopes to spread environmental awareness through educational campaigns, tours, and workshops, which has resulted in thousands of students being introduced to environmental topics. PROGRAM also works to promote ecotourism to help support local communities in their development projects.

Réseau Gabonais pour l’Environnement et le Développement Durable (RGEDD) was established by Gabone graduate students who are dedicated to protecting the environment and promoting sustainable development in Gabon. RGEDD is also committed to educating and spreading awareness about environmental topics to local communities through various community activities such as school programs, social media campaigns, radio broadcasts, and interactive workshops. The organization also aims to influence the government to take action in implementing environmental protection regulations.
