St. Francis of Assisi is a global spiritual inspiration for harmony and the love of natural beauty in all aspect of our lives on this Earth.  His memory advocates for our environment, for service to humanity, and for equal opportunity for all living beings.  His passion for humankind and our natural world leads us to commit to restore and protect a world where beauty is enjoyed, economic equity is available to all, and no being is threatened by climate extinction.  The challenges of the present are an opportunity to take action for a common and better future.

1. We commit ourselves to restoring the path of service as the core of our lives in this modern world, giving to others: family, neighbors, friends, associates, those less fortunate, and the earth itself with all its inhabitants, human and non-human.

2. We commit ourselves to restoring the beauty that graces our world and uplifts humanity, as captured in the cultures which we inherited from the generational that have come before us.

3. We commit ourselves to restoring equity, cooperation and peace, supporting every individual in contributing to their family, communities and a sustainable world.

4. We commit ourselves to restoring humankind’s balance on this earth through action to reduce environmental pollution as promised in the 2015 Paris Accord.

Our problems are apparent: climate degradation, biodiversity decline, economic insecurity, social and territorial inequality, political intransigence, and fear-fueled uncertainty about our future. However, we believe that there is nothing wrong in our world that cannot be corrected by what is right: compassion, beauty, nature, and action.  We are confident that, with the activation of serious and far-sighted policies and plans, we can make a difference. This challenge gives us strength as we take leadership positions, both public and private, to build a sustainable world.

We have a great opportunity to make our world more balanced and therefore more forward-looking. This challenge requires the contribution of the best technological, institutional, political, social, financial and cultural forces, and the participation of the productive world as well as the active involvement of all citizens.

We will work along all these lines with dedication, leaving no one behind, leaving no one alone, as we build a more civilized, kind and sustainable world.
