The People of Action Summits (Rotary Zones 26 and 27)
“Water: From Source to Sea”
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Newport Beach from Sept. 10-11
Both virtual and in-person programming options
Dear RCAT Network Members and Supporters,
You may have heard about the “People of Action Summits”, hosted by Rotary Zones 26 and 27, where Rotarians have an in-person or virtual opportunity to join forces with communities and industry experts to tackle some of the biggest challenges we face (https://rotarysummits.com/).
On September 10 and 11, the Rotary Club of Newport Beach will be hosting the “Water: From Source to Sea” Summit, a two-day event focusing on the crucial link between water and planetary health. We hope you will register for this important event and support the Rotarians who have given large amounts of personal time and effort to make it happen.
The Source to Sea Summit takes place from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on Saturday, September 10th and 12:30 to 4:30 PM on Sunday, September 11th and can be attended virtually or in person. The event with be jam-packed with information, inspiration, and actionable ideas. Rotarians will learn how they can become an ambassador for clean and healthy water. A major feature of the Summit will be hands-on water projects being undertaken concurrently across our “Big West” Rotary districts that weekend.
Keynote Speaker: Captain Paul Watson
Captain Paul Watson is an environmental activist and author who founded the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, an organization that protects marine wildlife. Watson was also a founder of Greenpeace. He shares his passion for animals and the environment through his involvement with many other organizations. Paul will speak at 2PM on both Saturday on Sunday on different topics.
Please forward or share this email about the Source to Sea Summit via any of the methods below to all of your club members and encourage them to attend virtually or in person. Even an hour or two each day would be time well spent.
Lastly, there is a long list of Interact and Rotaract members in the Newport Beach area that wish to attend Source to Sea in person and we are looking for sponsors to pay their in person fee of $75 for both days. Many local Interact members will be doing a Back Bay clean up Sunday morning and we would love to reward them with admission to this event. Interact and Rotaract are the crucial to the future of Rotary and we need the energy and enthusiasm of these younger Rotarians. If you can’t attend the Source to Sea Summit we would hope you might sponsor an Interact or Rotaract member in your place. The option to sponsor is available at the purchase ticket link below.
