Agir pour l'Environnement

Agir pour l’Environnement or Acting for the Environment, is a non-profit organization for environmental protection with the aim of putting pressure on political and economic decision-makers. They do this by carrying out citizen mobilization campaigns which brings together a network consisting of associations and citizens as broad as possible. More than 230,000 people are part of the Agir pour l’Environnement Facebook community, and each year, around 300,000 campaign documents of major environmental issues are distributed to raise public awareness. Their major campaigns involve issues on biodiversity, energy/climate, plastics, agriculture.

ACTED

ACTED is an organization based in Paris, France that focuses on responding to humanitarian crises while also implementing more sustainable practices and techniques. Their mission is to save lives and support people in meeting their needs in hard-to-reach areas. ACTED develops and implements programs that target the most vulnerable populations that have suffered from conflict, natural disasters, or socio-economic hardship. Their approach looks beyond the immediate emergency and more towards opportunities for long-term reconstruction and sustainable development solutions. ACTED has 39 countries of operation and supports 20 million people with sustainable infrastructure, more resilient ecosystems, and citizen-driven climate action. They strive for zero exclusion, zero carbon, and zero poverty.

Art of Change 21

Art of Change 21 is a  non-profit organization based in Paris, France, which uses contemporary art to convey messages about environmental issues. Through this unique but successful approach in science communication, Art of Change 21 highlights the importance of artists and creativity in the climate crisis and the current set of ecological issues. Through exhibitions, art prizes, workshops, newsletters, and projects, Art of Change 21 creates and shares various art pieces with the world to convey important environmental messages. It was created in 2014, before COP21 in Paris, and has since been important in other COP conferences. At COP27, Art of Change 21 organized workshops around their Maskbook project-campaign.These workshops were open to all and encouraged individuals to express environmental concerns by making masks from local waste materials. The organization brings together the environment, sustainable development, creativity, and collaboration.

CliMates

CliMates is an international think-and-do-tank on climate change, which gathers students and young workers from all around the world to work on innovative solutions to climate change. They gather young people from all around the world who seek to tackle the climate crisis representing several different countries, identities, backgrounds and cultures.CliMates share a collective vision for a transition towards a low carbon society by informing, empowering and engaging young people in collaborative research, global advocacy and grassroots mobilization.

Alternatiba

Alternatiba, village of Alternatives, is a citizen movement dedicated to climate and social justice in order for society to mobilize and face the challenges of climate change. Numerous Alternatiba events have been organised in over sixty different French and European cities. These events provide a space where hundreds of alternatives are presented in a festival-like manner in order to raise people’s awareness and to stimulate behaviour change. Following the 1st Alternatiba, in Bayonne in October 2013, it brought together more than 12,000 people, and a movement for the creation of 10, 100, 1000 Alternatiba was launched. There are a vast number of artistic and educational activities and it overall allows people to come and discover concrete solutions to the climate challenge, in a festive and artistic atmosphere.

Clim'actions Bretagne Sud

Clim’actions Bretagne Sud is an independent association that acts as a citizen laboratory of ideas and projects that anticipate and act in the face of climate change. Its goal is to mobilize, as broadly as possible, social, economic and political actors to initiate actions to mitigate and adapt to the present consequences of climate change. They mainly organize monthly public meetings to share knowledge, promote climate-fighting initiatives, implement innovative projects, and organize annual events (zero pesticides, festive climate, etc.).
