Women's Society Against Environmental Pollution (WSAEP)

The Women’s Society Against Environmental Pollution was established in 1998 by a group of Isfahan women with the guidance of Dr. Mahlagha, who is sometimes called the mother of Iran’s environmental movement. WSAEP strives to empower local communities through environmental education for all levels of society with the help and cooperation of other NGOs and organizations. WSAEP works with governmental organizations to achieve their goals, such as the General Directorate of Environmental Protection of Isfahan Province, the Ministry of Education, Health Authorities, and the Ministry of Industry. Other events and activities include: workshops, trips to Iranian ecosystems, tree planting days, the “no plastic bags” program, education about wetlands, national clean air day, and more.
