The Conservation Society of Sierra Leone
The Conservation Society of Sierra Leone (CSSL) was founded in 1986 with the mission of promoting the wise use and protection of Sierra Leone’s natural resources. For the last 35 years, the organization has worked to conserve and preserve forests and natural resources while fostering a sustainable livelihood for citizens of Sierra Leone. The four pillars of their work include saving species, protecting sites and habitats, conserving ecological sustainability, and enabling communities for positive change. CSSL uses education, policy development, advocacy, research, and site action to conserve important, critical sites of natural resources and biodiversity in Sierra Leone. The organization collaborates with local and international partners to administer their programs and ensure the protection of endangered species and their habitats.
