Universo MOLA
Universo MOLA is an international Latin American sustainable fashion movement and program of Fundación Entre Soles y Lunas. Their main goal is to stimulate local production to strengthen the local economies and teach people about the impact of fashion in Latin America. They offer educational training programs for those interested in leading change in the fashion industry as well as educational webinars. Besides sustainability, they also value the Latin American textile heritage and work to continue their culture through the art of fashion.

World Rainforest Movement
The World Rainforest Movement is an international collective that was founded in Uruguay to advocate for indigenous voices and forest conservation in the Global South. They mainly fight to protect these forest-adjacent communities’ right to their lands and self-determination, while also consistently working to protect against deforestation. They achieve these goals by engaging in policy analysis, proposal formation, community engagement, women empowerment, and networking.

Vida Silvestre
Vida Silvestre is a non-profit organization that started in 1995 that is dedicated to finding solutions to the environmental problems Uruguay is facing. They believe that by working with communities, businesses, and government, they can better achieve their goals. Their main focus includes conservation management and environmental education. Some of their conservation efforts include promoting endangered species breeding projects, citizen participation in environmental issues, and carrying out lobbying and monitoring actions legal of environmental issues. To raise awareness on environmental issues, the organization created a project in 2006 called TRIBhUMEDAL. The project was developed in the area adjacent to the future Santa Lucía Humedales Protected Area and people from all ages participated in educational camps, environmental interpreted trails, and more. The organization also has a chapter in Argentina.

REDES
REDES is an Uruguayan organization focused on the intersection of social and environmental issues. REDES’ main activities include advocating for local food sovereignty across Uruguay, fighting for justice for the environment and women, working against climate change and towards energy and water sovereignty, and fighting for economic justice across the world. Their projects focus on fighting against the legalization and widespread use of GMO agriculture in Uruguay, a variety of lobbying efforts to get local governments in Uruguay to pass public policies that are environmentally friendly and that empower women and vulnerable groups.

COENDU
Conservación de Especies Nativas del Uruguay COENDU (Conservation of Uruguay’s Native Species) for short, is one of the most prominent environmental NGOs in Uruguay. Since its founding in 2014, COENDU has already made a large impact on the conservation of Uruguay’s rich biodiversity and raised public awareness of environmental issues through its educational campaigns. In its activism, the organization specifically focuses on animals and shifting public opinion on issues related to human capture and killing of wild animals. They have held campaigns against hunting animals and keeping wild animals as pets. Their work goes beyond informational campaigns, as they have held impactful beach clean-ups, monitored species populations, created an app to track environmental crimes, and much more.
